PA L12/17 is an controlled Atmosphere furnace, the furnace chamber structure was built in sealing type, which makes it could be working under Vacuum, Nitrogen and other inert gases atmosphere situation, and the chamber insulated with 1800# high quality alumina lining board, heating elements are powerful MoSi2 rods, the temperature is controlled by high precision SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) digital controller with accuracy ±1°C and many segments programmable up to 1600°C (in air 1700C).

Safety Measures

• Built-in ammeter and dual voltmeters for easy monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Overheat protection shuts down the furnace if temperature is outside of acceptable range (refer to controller's manual) or when the thermocouple is broken or malfunctions
• Power failure protection resumes furnace operation right after the point of failure when power is reestablished
• Microprocessor based self-tuning PID control provides optimum thermal process with minimal overshoot

• However, toxic or explosive gases that may generate from the sample during the heating are not recommended for use with this high temperature muffle furnace without necessary safety controls and supervision.
• Small cracks may appear on the surface of the refractory ceramics over extended use. This is a normal occurrence and the cracks may be repaired with alumina coating.
• Ultimate vacuum level for PA Controlled Atmosphere muffle furnace is around 90000 Pa with hose barb connections. Please keep in mind that our PA atmosphere furnaces are NOT designed to be vacuum furnaces, the vacuuming part is mainly for users to pre-vac the chamber, before putting in inert or other protective gases, if you have special request on vacuum level, please order our professional vacuum furnaces
